I bought this in Alaska several years ago as a gift for my husband. When I was thinking about a photograph to fit the theme, I came across some dill he had chopped and saved in a plastic bag. When he said he didn't have a specific use for it, I just said that I did. Next was finding the right chopping tool...
All of which is to admit that this image was created only for the photograph and has no bearing on any activity related to my cooking!
@777margo Thanks Margo. I admit that I hardly even use it -- the blade is intimidating and the wood is so beautiful that I don't want it to fade. So, it's now mostly a prop. It's supposed to be the best way to chop fresh herbs, so I may start using it more.
I just looked at this on the vote site and I immediately saw a face. The space under the wooden top is an eye with the front point the nose over the bowl which is the mouth. I was surprised that no one else saw one, but it's all in the eye of the beholder!
@jennywren I love it -- you are clearly more creative in your view than the rest of us and now that you've pointed it out, I totally see it! Thanks for the vote, btw!
I'm amazed at how exact you got the angle of your photo and reflection to make the blade appear almost see-through. The bit of dill clinging to the blade anchors it. FAV
@mcsiegle I'm go glad you made this comment! I actually ended up taking about 40 shots, and then processing took forever when I finally chose the shot that worked best. I had the little bowl in all different positions, and the blade. So many thanks!
