A wander through Chicago's Cultural Center takes you to Hogwart's type staircases, two Tiffany Domes, grand ballrooms, a coffee shop and 'hangout area' and these grand stairs that lead to the 'small' Tiffany Dome -- the one that people often skip, not knowing what they're missing. Taken today on a photo walk which was more successful than my search for a few summer clothing items.
Thank you for your wonderful comments and favs on the stormy skies from yesterday! You made me almost happy we are having such awful weather. The view has totally disappeared tonight and we are again mired in fog.

What a grand staircase! So elegant! Yes I too can imagine the ladies in their long dresses gliding down. For some reason I would like to see this in colour as it feels cold to me and I want to see it more alive. Does that even make any sense Taffy?
@pamknowler I'll post it on Flickr and tag you. It's much warmer looking because of the gold tones...I gave Jim the test: which should I post? And he said he liked both, so of course, I went with b&w!
@joansmor This year we're seriously delayed for getting to the island, because house moving is taking longer than we thought. We now have an end-of-June or early July move in to our 'real' house. So BI comes after that, sadly! I also have two week-long work trips end of May and mid-June, complicating things still further...
This staircase is quite the architectural treat! Lovely, how you caught the symmetrical sweep of the stairs on both sides. The dramatic processing works well to bring out the symmetrical textures of the ceiling. We are driving (and driving 😉), so I will have to wait to see it on a screen larger than my phone, but I really like the symmetry and dramatic sweep of this shot.
Beautiful B&W and good subject for B&W, placing the emphasis on the lines and structure. I always admire your attention to detail when it comes to the composition and setup of these architectural images.
Beautiful shot Taffy. I now have a new wide angle lens (10-20mm), and can't wait to get into the City to take Taffy style architectural shots. And also use the bracketing feature on the camera too.
@karlow75 What fun!! I'll look forward to seeing your shots with it. With a wide angle and tripod, bracketing is so much fun! You can spend hours processing them!
