A 'drive-by' taken as we shifted from Indiana into Illinois on our way back to Chicago from Beaver Island. We are slowly moving into to our still-under-construction house. Want to be able to be excited about it, but mostly am discouraged at how much is yet to be done despite all this time. Project manager is coming out tomorrow - perhaps to try to 'manage' us as we are not happy but, more optimistically, maybe it's to problem solve about getting more crew here for both work and for extensive clean up they must get done before we can use storage room and garage. In 3 days, students arrive -- parking on the street essentially disappears.
Thanks for your comments re the multiplicity shot. It's been fun to learn a little about PS layers (and how to import from LR correctly).
Lots of pylons indeed! Great B&W image! So sorry to hear that your house is still not properly finished! How disappointing for you! It sounds like those builders need a rocket up their .........! Perhaps now that you are back and living there they will feel the urgency! Sending lots of positive vibes to you and Jim! Easy to say but try not to stress too much!
So sorry to hear your house is still not ready. It must be so frustrating for you it has been going on for so long. Great capture of these pylons looks good in B&W
I remember when they were doing my kitchen and I would come home and try to see what they had done all day. And then watching my boss remodel the building we rent out, I just have an understanding that it goes slow and the workman always say they can do it sooner and faster then is reality. Sort of like when the salesman tries to convince you that you are getting the best deal on a car.
Great shot. Sorry to hear you are still having problems with your house. You have showed considerable patience so far, hope things speed up soon and that your ordeal is almost over
It must be hard to leave the idyllic island and drive into this- but then this makes for such a great shot! I am married to a man who is in construction. Generally speaking as a tile craftsman Jeff is usually in and out on his end of a job, but plumbers, painters, carpenters, sheet-rock and electricians- I don't think there's been a job yet where any or all of them kept to the time frame. So be prepared to hang in there! Eventually it will be done and you'll be happy but it takes a lot of coordination to get to that point! Hopefully your GC will get the ball rolling in your favor soon!
Great b&w shot. I can quite see where you're coming from, with so much to do on the house, and presumably a new term starting very soon? I'd be very impatient in your shoes.
Joining the choir, above, regarding the bummer of the house "non" preparation and the coolness of the power lines. Nice drive-by shot. I agree with Jane... enough, already!
Cool shot. Love it in B&W. I have been so tired and not feeling great still so apologize if my comments on your photos do not make 100% sense. I have one last Dr appointment next week. Hoping I do not have more after that for a while. Getting better is slow going. Off all inhalers unless a lot of smoke in the skies from the fires here. Three firefighters lost their lives in Washington yesterday. I have family there that is sick from the smoke. Craziness on our west coast. I hope all goes well and you are able to be comfortable in your place soon. I want all the plastic down and our toilet put back in place and want to use our shower too. Lucky we have a second bathroom. I did get sick and had to put this off for 2 months but now I have to fight and very hard to do. Take care and hang in there.
Oh, dear, I get exhausted just reading about your ordeal with your house renovation! Things just take so much longer than expected, and there are always loose ends to tie up, even when the work is done and finished! I am just up to my eyeballs dealing with contractors....of course, I always have to be there to supervise in order to make sure the job is done correctly. We finally got the floors in our kitchen tiled (after five months of designing, selecting materials, interviewing contractors, you name it), and when he was done and gone I spent the rest of the week scrubbing the place and putting it back in order! I know you are starting your school year soon, but if you could just take some time and put a Punch List together, present it to them, and mark everything unfinished with blue tape you will feel better, and they will know exactly what they have to do!! Good luck with it all....and, let me know if you have any questions!
On the other hand terriffic "on the run" photo!
So disappointing to come home to.............hope the rest of the construction is speedy!!
