We had a great meetup with @michaelelliott and @adamj this evening, and of course it included hanging out in spots with great views of the city. This was taken from the top floor lounge of the relatively new Ink Hotel, looking over the Hudson River to the west and the iconic Manhattan skyline to the east. This is not the iconic view (see Junko's at http://365project.org/jyokota/365/2015-10-12 ) but I thought the architecture looking north was really intriguing.
LOVE the glow, the glittering of the light and especially the echoing of the two triangular shapes in the buildings! Well spotted -- I saw you taking multiple photos and I still couldn't see what you were seeing!
I think you made a good choice with this view -the architechture indeed is really great! Love that triangle shaped building on left and that one on the right looks pretty intriguing as well
Iconic or not, it's a great shot Taffy. The range of architectural styles is fascinating. The cranes suggest more building's going on. Lucky you to be able to experience this kind of cityscape. Sigh.
You did a great job with this shot, Taffy (and, it sounds like you guys had a great time taking photos, as well!!), and I love the view that you chose. It really conveys the energy and the upward growth of the city, the canyons that are created by these tall buildings, and of course, all the light and glitter....FAV!
Fabulous view Taffy! I do love these night time city scapes! You have such a great eye for these shots. Is this hdr? You always get such depth of detail and clarity. Fav!
Before reading the caption, my first impression was that this looked like the view from my mother's balcony in her Big Apple high rise. Then read the caption, and see it was taken in NY. No wonder it looked familiar. Haha.
Love all the detail you captured, Taffy. How awesome to meet up with ME. I would love to meet him some day. Your photos are becoming much like his though in your own style. FAV
Wow -- we had a lot of wonderful photo ops, and a great time!
