What a nice day re photo strokes. Thank you for your kind comments and favs for my orchid that ended up on TT and on top of that, putting my umbrella shot onto the PP. I'm so enjoying working with textures. But for this image, I returned to Silver Efex. This was taken at the Chicago Cultural Center looking up and out the main door on Washington Blvd.
It makes me happy, in a nerdly way, that you lined those exterior windows up just right, looking through the bottom ledge of the arched window. :). Wonderful complex textures and tones in this shot. Silver Efex is the only way to go. Beautiful result.
What an interesting composition - that arched window against the building across the street - quite interesting contrasts. Like the dark lines and all the textures. I'm just starting to look at Silver Efex - now got to get back to some b&w to practice!
@rosiekerr So cool that you noticed the window lineup -- that was a huge thing I tried doing in this shot. First time it has worked out the way I'd imagined.
Wow another fabulous building Taffy!! Love the shapes and textures and the view through the window. Fav!! I must go and check out the TT - I have lost track of days this week!!
Quite amazing detail on the ceiling. They certainly don't make them like that anymore. And I'm impressed that the windows on the building across the road were perfectly lined up.
Another beautiful composition, Taffy! I've learned so much from your fabulous architectural images. I've never felt comfortable with architectural shots. I take them when we travel, but I always feel a bit confused as to how to compose them. Thanks to you, I'm looking forward to trying some new things the next time I have the opportunity!
