P3 at the Altar of Chocolate by taffy

P3 at the Altar of Chocolate

Sigh...our house is sold, our contents in storage, and we are now living with Bill & Junko @jyokota til we leave for Beaver Island in the next week or so. What a month, and what a lot of uncertainty ahead but with the island on the horizon, all seems calm. We close on our new condo on the 15th of June, but occupancy timing is unknown til the current renters find their home.
I received a lovely (and gigantic) box of Chocolates from the "Chicago-2016" UK contingent -- thank you Sarah, Pam, Rosie, and Donna! -- so perfectly timed for Junko and me to have a photo-play before the chocolates started disappearing. Here's Professor Percival Penguin (P3) worshipping his favorite piece before he devoured it.
Looking forward to checking in a bit more regularly now, and back to normal once we get settled on the island.
[Processing: Lightroom, PS Liquify filter here and there, and Topaz Textures]
Looks delish! Hope things start to feel more settled for you soon...

Excellent shot and now I'm getting a hankering for chocolate. Best of luck in your move, Taffy.

He does look worshipful. I think a lot of chocolate would be the doctor's order for dealing with what you have been up against!

Having my last little look on 365 before I go to bed and what a lovely surprise to see your post! So pleased all seems calm for you now and how lovely to be going to Beaver Island next week! What fun to see P3 in front of the huge chocolate! I hope it was as tasty as it looks! Lovely processing Taffy! So good to see you back! Fav

It looks like P3 is in for a real treat.

Cleverly staged capture. Love the inclusion of the sun in the top right.
June 4th, 2016
Love it, very clever and great processing. Hope all goes well with your new venture. It is quite daunting moving house sometimes isn't it. We have done it 16 times during our military days and it is the limbo stage which is the most difficult. Hope you are able to relax on Beaver Island.

Cute capture and perfect title...I. too, enjoy the chocolate alter. Enjoy the island and looking forward to your captures!
June 4th, 2016
wow... you sound busy! Congrats on selling your house! I bet you're ready for island life!! A wonderful image... great processing.
June 4th, 2016
Cool processing, hoping things settle down for you when you get to Beaver Island and get time to relax Taffy!
June 4th, 2016
So glad to hear things are looking up. I need to join P3.
June 4th, 2016
Neat shot and presentation...good luck on your move :)
June 4th, 2016
Cool picture.
June 4th, 2016
Congrats on the new condo! I'm sure it will all come around quicker than you think (probably just after you get settled on the island!). Wow P3 you are one lucky penguin!! Piggy and the Critters are quite jealous as Miss Ann must refrain from chocolate for a while. (too many sad faces to put here!)
June 4th, 2016
Fabulous capture, love the editing and processing
June 4th, 2016
I did not catch up why you are selling the house, I hope it is a planned move. Beaver Island sounds like an exciting place, I remember those photos you took. All the best.
June 4th, 2016
Congrats on the sale and good luck on the new residence, sweet shot, btw:)

@yaorenliu We loved the high rise we lived in while our house was being reconstructed after the fire. Then, we found out we could buy it, though renters are there for a while. All in all, we'll be able to move back eventually. Sold our house since the timing was right (all was new). If it weren't for the renters, it would have worked out perfectly!

May the moving Gods smile on you and yours. I love the chocolate theme here, never, never enough.
June 4th, 2016
FUN! love how you created story here by layering and playing!
June 4th, 2016
Goodness gracious. At least you had somewhere to go. I am glad for that. And nice to have Beaver Island as well. I hope that all goes ok and you guys can move into your new home soon. This is a great photo and a delicious one at that. I love all the black and white and the way you set it up too. I also love the burst in the top right. Nicely done. You make my mouth water with the chocolate. I am trying to stop eating it, my one big downfall in life. My sugar level is suddenly higher than normal so making changes. Super hard to do but doable when presented with the alternative. I need to exercise to which outside walking is too hot at this point. I could go on and on but will not bore you as I know you have a lot to do and have been through a ton yourself. Hang in there as things always work out. Happy days ahead. Hugs!

Good fun, well done.
June 4th, 2016
Fun shot! The truffle looks yummy. You've had quite a year and now getting ready for another new beginning in your new home! Wishing you all the best in the coming months.
June 4th, 2016
Pray on! Looks ever so delicious ... I just love how the UK continent sent their chocolate love. :) Hang in there, on the moving front
June 4th, 2016
Love it, love it. P3 is being very restrained methinks. Rapt to hear you've sold your house, that's a big one ticked off the list. Enjoy Beaver Island and a well-earned battery recharge. BTW, Altar not Alter???? Sorry, couldn't resist.
June 4th, 2016
Delicious looking capture, envy P3 a bit
June 4th, 2016
I wouldn't do like P3, I would just jump onto the chocolate and devour it. Cool capture. Hope you can settle down very quickly. Looking forward for shots from Beaver Island.
June 4th, 2016
Chocolates were an absolute pleasure, glad P3 got eat one before they all vanished!!
June 4th, 2016
Oh my! The altar of chocolate!!!
June 4th, 2016
Yummy looking chocolate - P3 is a lucky penguin.

Always stressful moving home - I wish you all the best with it.
June 4th, 2016
A cute capture. Good luck with your move
June 4th, 2016
You have done all that and still have a sense of humour. Chocolate completely deserved! Nice six word story.
June 4th, 2016
P3 is, quite rightly, gazing in awe - chocolate deserves respect, and eating. :)
I hope you are able to relax and enjoy your time on the island - you must be very much in need of a break from all the hustle, bustle and stress.
June 4th, 2016
The chocolates look and sound delicious. I hope you can finalise a moving date soon. Enjoy your time on Beaver Island.
June 4th, 2016
Will enjoy your photos from Beaver Island and will keep my fingers crossed that the renters house hunt has early success. But staying with Junko for a while must be fun.
June 4th, 2016
delightful capture :0 Hope all goes well with the move - looking forward to photos from beaver Island as I know nothing about it!!
June 5th, 2016
@joansmor Thanks Joan. Yes, it's quite comfortable and relaxing to hang out with long-time friends. Time will go quickly I think, for heading "up north" which to us means Beaver Island.
June 5th, 2016
hehe... To you of the British contingent, "Good Choice!" I can now say you'd asked me to find out what Taffy's favourite flowers were, but she seemed to not be so much a Flower Child as Charlie in the Chocolate Factory! @pamknowler and the rest! Taffy, you four will have a wonderful time visiting, even as you're sort-of without a home! Enjoy the island; I know you will! As for us, I think I'm busier-by-degrees every summer! Of course I bring a lot of it on myself (and I love all the activity!) but morning-to-night at present is filled! Tell Junko that one of last year's opera singers from Berlin is here studying composition this time (she's also an amazing pianist!) and will be staying with us all next week, so I'm looking forward to the house being filled with music! We'll have been to 4 concerts this week by tomorrow afternoon! I believe I could use some sequestration to catch up here! I have the photos, but little time! ♥ to all of you!
June 5th, 2016
Love the humour here despite the problems faced by moving!
Best wishes. Fav.
June 5th, 2016
Have been thinking of you! You close on the day I leave for Paris (with record high river flooding) . Enjoy Beaver Island and be gentle in yourself. There's just so much ine can do in a day. I'm drowning these days and am just can't take "one mire thing" (like the AC went out--Aaaarrrgggg). Tell Junko hello!! At least you have awesome friends with whom to rest your head! ♡♡♡♡
June 5th, 2016
I hate texting...all my o's are i's
June 5th, 2016
hey there P3! Nice to see you ... and Taffy too! say hi to her and leave her a little piece.
June 6th, 2016
I am so pleased to hear that your sale went through, now I shall keep my fingers crossed for the 15th. My best wishes to Junko too, I hope her arm is healing as it should be! I doubt I will see you before you head for Beaver Island, but will look forward to catching up late summer/fall!
June 7th, 2016
Are you around Monday? May do boat tour with Junko's visiting colleague. @ukandie1
June 7th, 2016
@taffy Most likely! Nik arrives home from London on Saturday, but I don't see why that should make a difference about meeting up on Monday. Let me know what time boat tour.
June 7th, 2016
@taffy knowing Nik, she would probably quite like to join us!
June 7th, 2016
@ukandie1 perfect. I'll check with Junko and let you know. Fun to meet nik!
June 7th, 2016
Cool, I am having trouble with my Comcast email so probably best to text me!
June 7th, 2016
@ukandie1 Junko may come home earlier Sunday. Not sure if we would do boat tour or wait til.monday as planned. Are you free either or only Monday?
June 9th, 2016
I am only free on monday, but if you want to go ahead and do it Sunday, I understand!
June 10th, 2016
@ukandie1 I'm guessing it will stay on Monday but was checking just in case. Knew your email has been erratic so used this instead. After this, will text.
June 10th, 2016
Cool!
June 10th, 2016
