Inside the Crown

Photo 1 of a series this week. We were SO lucky to be invited to a reception in the Crown of the Tribune Building. For those who have followed me since 2014, the invitation was from the owner of the emergency housing company that found us the condo to live in after our fire, the one we ended up buying (and now waiting to move into when the current renters move out). So it was special to see her again and in this amazing setting. This was taken looking up from the outside 'patio' that surrounds the tower, offering a 360 degree view of the city. The arches were imposing and as night went on, the lighting turned the tower green.
To see where I'm standing, see arches at the top of the building with the flag in yesterday's photo in my extra's album. The Tribune Building is just left of center of the scene: http://365project.org/taffy/the-also-ran-ph/2016-10-04
This is such an iconic building from the front, yet I've never seen it from this angle. What a grand depiction, with the soaring height shown, and those clouds, oh my, what beautifully textured and colored clouds!

Amazing POV. I kind of want to twist it slightly around to the left, for my nerdly tweak, but such an imposing view with gorgeous clouds.

What is amazing to me is that I know this is outside on top of a building, but it feels like it's on the ground looking up at the top of a skyscraper. My stomach gets butterflies thinking of the reality! fav
