Organized Chaos Ahead by taffy

Organized Chaos Ahead

Lower level (baggage claim) at O'Hare last weekend. Crowds are building for holiday travel. This was taken as I was returning to Chicago. We leave again on Thursday for a 3 week holiday -- to warmth -- can't wait!
Great shine on the floor - I would presume it is not slippery! Wonder where you are going to get your warmth!

I like how you've used the floor pattern in the foreground, they draw ones eyes into the shot.

@maggiemae San Jose de Los Cabos -- the Baja peninsula in Mexico. VERY excited as our plan is 3 weeks of nothing to do. We're going with close friends of almost 40 years. Junko and Bill are coming down for a week, which will be fun. And then on return we move into a rental in the city while we wait for renters from h--- to get our of our condo.
December 14th, 2016
great contrast of giant zigzag floor patterns with the vertical lines of people in the distance.
December 14th, 2016
Do like those lines. Our daughter is in Todos Santos and we will be going mid January...you'll probably be back by then?
December 14th, 2016
@jgpittenger We come back on the 5th. I've never been to that area so am really excited about it. Have you been down there before?
December 14th, 2016
@taffy I think this choice will be wonderful - might see some whales! Obviously you have to give notice to the tenants. When we gave 6 weeks notice that was the minimum, they stopped paying!!
December 14th, 2016
Nice shot. I like the lines too. Cannot imagine traveling on the holiday. Have a great time in the warm weather and fun with friends. Wow, that has been a long wait for the renters to move. I hope they get out soon so you guys can move into your condo. Merry Christmas though imagine you will be posting while you are gone.
December 14th, 2016
Nicely captured - love the black and white. Happy Warm Holidays to you.
December 14th, 2016
With the weather you've been experiencing right now, the lure of that warmth can't come soon enough I'm sure! 3 weeks of missing Chicago winter - what a Christmas present! Love your shot here - so sharp and love the lines - great choice for b&w.
December 14th, 2016
love the stripes, comes out great in b/w. Safe travels! And beware of sunburn...
December 14th, 2016
@maggiemae Chicago laws favor tenants...and a typical lease allows them to extend their contract by a year, which they've done despite saying they would work with us in good faith (when they bought their own condo last july!). We have no clue why they aren't moving out! But legally, they have a right, sadly. So we are up in the air unless they choose to move out. At least they have to leave by July 31, and then our renovations can begin -- we'll be able to move in by October, we hope!
December 14th, 2016
Great airport shot- so many of them look like this! My one trip that took me through O'Hare was much busier.
December 14th, 2016
Thought of you while watching the weather today . Chicago in the teens ... brrrrrr...... Not looking forward to it heading my way. Can't believe you are still dealing with those renters ... Have a great vacation ... Very cool POV
December 14th, 2016
@taffy nope. Just to Maya Tuluum, Puerto Morelos, and SAN Blas all in mainland Mexico
December 14th, 2016
Great perspective in this shot...enjoy your vacation :)
December 14th, 2016
lovely
December 14th, 2016
Wonderful perspective and nice BW shot.
December 14th, 2016
Have fun on your trip. Mexico is no longer a place I will visit after my mother in law died. See you in a month!
December 14th, 2016
Lots of traffic at this time of year. You could come here Taffy, it is boiling. 37 degrees c today. we are melting.
December 14th, 2016
All on the phone too. Great title and shot.
December 14th, 2016
@joysabin Not sure what you mean about the phone? Must admit I was using my regular DSLR -- I'd carried it to Boston and back without taking a single shot and decided that had been a total waste, so as I was leaving the plane, I got it out and decided to take at least one shot! Put it away after this one, only to need it again when I missed the train. At least it made it worth having carried it!
December 14th, 2016
@taffy The three up front in the shot seem to be on the phone. I take cell shots all the time, I haven't upgraded my phone because I like the camera. I just hope that it lasts a bit longer, 3 years.
December 14th, 2016
@darylo Thanks -- see you soon! I imagine that Mexico will always bring up sad memories. . .even the holidays too...thinking of you.
December 14th, 2016
Love this, great POV
December 14th, 2016
@joysabin AH! NOW I get it! "All" on the phone are the folks...not 'all the shots!' I hadn't even picked up on that. Thanks! I'll be that every other person I passed had their phone on and was looking at it.
December 14th, 2016
@joysabin I'll bet that every other person I passed had their phone on and was looking at it -- bet, not be
December 14th, 2016
Enjoy the Mexico, lucky girl!
December 14th, 2016
Great shot! Good luck with those renters! And have a wonderful holiday when it comes round!!
December 14th, 2016
Love the POV and in b&w! Fav. Enjoy your holiday!
December 14th, 2016
Nice. Those lines are doing something funny to my eyes: the floor and ceiling seem as if they meet in the distance, squeezing out all the people
December 14th, 2016
Nice spotting of something that would make a great image.
December 14th, 2016
Hope you have a good trip
December 14th, 2016
love those curvy lines in empty space leading to all the people. Enjoy the warmth!
December 14th, 2016
Looks busy. I don't need to go to warmth for a holiday but I would love to go for some snow. I will be off on Friday for a short trip to Turin in Italy to watch a football match.
December 14th, 2016
I like the way the ceiling seems to be squeezing in as the eye moves back.
December 14th, 2016
Love the lines in this shot Taffy. Have a wonderful time in Mexico. All that sun!
December 14th, 2016
LOL Love your title. Great capture. Enjoy your holiday, Taffy.

December 14th, 2016
This shot really works well. Have a lovely holiday in the warmth.. looking forward to your photos.
December 14th, 2016
Great title. I like the B&W presentation — really makes that floor stand out.
December 14th, 2016
Tom
Wonderful capture, the feeling of the low overhead, alternating strips
of dark and light, chap on the phone, the people in the distance, yes definitely a baggage claim area captured
December 15th, 2016
Fantastic capture. Did you sit on the floor to take the shot? I like your POV
December 15th, 2016
Great crop, Taffy, of my not-so fav airport. Hope Mexico is fun.
@snaggy
December 15th, 2016
Love the POV--busy but things looks in order!!-enjoy Mexico but be careful:)
December 16th, 2016
Great image Taffy - love the zig zagging lines!! Safe journey and enjoy you time in Mexico - it sounds wonderful - a bit warmer than my trip to Yorkshire!! LOL!! 2017 is going to be your year - when you finally get into Skybridge!! I am sure the tenants from h,,, will get their just deserts - Karma!! Fav!
December 16th, 2016
@pamknowler Thanks for the kind thoughts!! Just about to post an image from here...and a note -- Junko was driving when a car slammed her yesterday. She is fine, but spent the night in the emergency room and is going to be very very sore. Bill and she are supposed to join us here on Sunday, so fingers crossed that all works out so she can rest in the warmth. I thought you'd want to know!
December 16th, 2016
My goodness, Taffy, will "it" ever end?! So sorry to read about Junko and let her know I send best wishes for a speedy recuperation! Such a lovely retreat in the company of best friends sounds like a perfect way for you all to celebrate your holiday! (We love that part of Mexico!)
December 16th, 2016
@taffy OMG what next!! Poor Junko she has recovered well from her broken arm and now this!! I do hope she is well enough to join you as resting in the warm sounds just what she needs!! Please give her my love and wish her well from me!!
December 16th, 2016
I am checking in, after a long week. First, love the zig-zag lines, so bold, to lead one into the busy travel scene. Next, so bummer for Junko and her accident. I hope that it doesn't interfere with her ability to enjoy the warmth of Mexico (which sounds like just what the doctor ordered!). Give her my best!
