A hard to miss Abraham Lincoln and "Everyman" are engaged in conversation about his Gettysburg Address (in the hands of Everyman) in Pioneer Square, next to the Chicago River on Michigan Avenue. You can see their scale to the more typical human in the lower right, trying to get their attention.
Thank you for your witty response to yesterday's spotted dog (yes, another pun). I'm glad to be able to make you smile!

Thanks! Based on your comments, I just added a link to a website that explains this temporary sculpture. Tony -- there's some discussion of why that statue and why erecting it in November (it had been in New Jersey prior to visiting Chicago).
Louise, remember the Marilyn Monroe one? That was in this spot a few years ago, and this sculpture is by the same artist.
@taffy I do recall, and I was wondering who the sculptor might have been, but didn't want to put you to the task of looking it up when I could do so as well! And this explains why I hadn't seen it!
Very thought-provoking sculpture given the tenor (bass??) of current times. I wonder what Lincoln would make of today's White House crew and the orange man one of our journos recently called a narscissistic sociopath. He's been called worse, our press have been trying to outdo each other.
I had never heard of this statue, and I like it very much. The contrast between Lincoln in his 19th century clothing and the modern building is particularly striking.
@rjb71 Thanks Richard. I generally don't put people in my images, but realized in this one, without the person, we'd have no sense of the gigantic nature of these two figures.
What wonderful statues - so huge!! Good that you put the man in the shot for scale. I love that you have this art in Chicago which comes and goes. I wonder will I see this? LOL! Fav!
@pamknowler I'm not sure how long it is here, but would guess it will remain for about a year if the Marilyn statue is any guide. You'll be about a block away from it.
FAV.
Great photograph!
I love the sense of scale, but to include the gentleman in the right hand side is the best way to have captured it.
Really good stuff.

I wonder if there will ever be a sculpture of the current President.
