Maybe the one positive thing about feeling miserable is I was up at all hours of the night. The good sign is finally this morning, I had the energy to get my camera out of the case and take a few images -- the color of the moon was quite amazing (and yesterday, I didn't actually care! Definitely progress). Hoping the end is in sight as I must be healthy for our move out of this condo this week and prep for our trip to Iceland with Junko and Bill starting Friday! Thank you for all your kind words wishing me well. I greatly appreciate it.
Wonderful photo, the moon, the sky, the whole thing. Oh Iceland! I've heard fabulous things about that country I know your photos will be unbelievable. Hope you get well soon.
What a gorgeous moon shot!! I looked out last night but the moon was nearly covered by cloud and no chance of a shot. Glad you are feeling a bit better. You need to get your strength up for the move and then Iceland!! Just over 6 weeks until we come - a lot going on for you between now and then!! I hope all goes smoothly for you!! Fav!!
@rookynook Thanks! Moon shots are actually pretty easy. The main thing is knowing how to turn on 'spot metering' on your camera. On my Nikon, it's a little button on the top of the camera. You push the button down and use one of the 'wheels' to move it so only the center spot is highlighted. With spot metering, you then focus on the moon and it reads the lighting information correctly. You can often take it handheld as the moon is pretty bright.
Fabulous shot. fav.
I hope you cheer up soon, it has been a really long haul for you over the last couple of years. I do hope the end is in sight and you can settle once and for all in your new home soon.
Beautiful capture! I've just been having trouble getting back to sleep if I wake up at night- not good for the energy level next day but it did mean I got some really nice moon shots this week!
Beautiful early morning colors and building interest, against the full moon. Lovely! Sorry to hear that you are under the weather, yuk. The timing is difficult, with the pressure to move and pack. So very sorry... hoping for your speedy recovery.
Oh my, sounds as if there is big time pressure on you to get well quick. Yikes. Marvelous scene. Is it a composite? If so, you handled the lighting nicely. The moon looks a tiny bit cookie cutters...trying to imagine how you might improve it
@jgpittenger Almost SOOC! That's why I was motivated in the wee hours to get my camera. Within 2 minutes it was almost hidden by the buildings. If I hadn't photographed it I'm convinced I would have thought it a dream!
Firstly, wonderful shot and that moon is amazing! Secondly, Iceland on Friday? Really? I am so envious, and so looking forward to seeing your photographs. Have a great trip and hope you feel better very soon.
We NEED you to care about the moon Taffy as you take THE BEST pictures! This is fabulous! Also fabulous, another amazing trip in store! Looking forward to seeing how you photograph it!
beautiful pov capturing the lines, forms and colors of the buildings
