Because of the wind and rain, our guide - Pall - spent the afternoon with Junko and me guiding us through nuances with Lightroom. It was such a great way to spend the afternoon, with an expert's eye advising us on processing. Here's one Pall thought 'worthy.'
Junko's beautiful image of the context is here: http://365project.org/jyokota/365/2017-03-24

Thank you for putting my cave shot on TT this week! Exciting to see it there. And thanks as well for putting the Aurora shot on PP and for all your fun comments about what you saw in the geyser!
I love, love, love this one -- the way the sun shone through the glacier bits floating on the ocean. I wish I had thought to zoom in on such a wonderful scene.
Oh, I'm getting all interested in Iceland now thanks to the shots you and @jyokota are posting. Don't know that we'll ever make it there though. This is another stunning shot, and quite different from any photos of Iceland that I've seen to date.
@golftragic This has been an amazing trip -- we are now back 'home' (but not home of course yet), with an incredible set of images to work from. My computer died last night -- grrrr -- so I'm off in a few minutes to try to sort out if it's fixable. Hoping I didn't lose all my work from the trip, but had backed up right before I left.
Your pictures are stunning. I was looking in the critique section and found your name in the list of mentors. Not sure how long ago was that posted, however if you are still interested I'd like to gain some education.
@zita_2016 Zita, that's so sweet of you! Our mentor group was in place about 4 years ago. But, I'm willing to give it a go with you if you'd like. I looked at your album briefly and saw you had posted in the discussion thread asking for critique. I thought their advice to you was very useful! Let me know your goals for photography and I can take a look at your images with those in mind. For example, do you want to focus on composition? on understanding variation in Shutter Speed, ISO, and Aperture and how they contribute to a photo? I can create a few exercises -- maybe one every week or two, depending on what you want to learn. That's basically what we did in the critique group when we were active together. Anyway, let me know what you have in mind, and then I'm happy to move ahead.
I think a little bit of constructive feedback about the shot is a good starting point. I understand it takes time and lot of practice which is why I joined 365 as it will keep me motivated. The goal is to learn and experiment and feel good about it :-)
Is it very cold there right now?
