It was so pretty that I took a long walk through Junko and Bill's neighborhood. With tons of flowering trees, gardens in full bloom, people out and about, there were plenty of photo ops right outside the door.
So beautiful Taffy! Junko is lucky to live in such a lovely area with lots of gorgeous houses and gardens! Sometimes those elusive shots are right under our noses! Lovely to see the magnolia flower while it is so perfect as they don't last very long! Fav!
@pamknowler Regarding what Pam wrote, there's a beautiful Pink Magnolia tree up here on campus that had one bloom the last time we were here. When we returned the other day, I was hopeful there might still be more...but too late...and all that's left is a bare tree... I'll enjoy your's Taffy and other's I've seen here! (You all have a great time, upcoming!)
I just adore Japanese magnolias. They look so cheerful on otherwise bare branches. Love the dof you've used on this shot, makes the flowers look so good against that soft background.
That's what I used to do in Houston when in need of a photo ... a wander in the neighbourhood always did the trick. This is a lovely image of such a beautiful flower. I love magnolias; both the early tulip version and the later white flowers. We have one in our front garden - June is the month for the flowers to appear. I'm looking forward to it as their perfume is delightful.
Beautiful soft colors and tones! A month ago I would not have known what this tree was, but we have one in our back yard, and being the non green fingered person I am I had to google 'tree with purple flowers' to discover that it is a magnolia tree!
Beauty right outside your (er, Junko's) back door! That shade of lavender is sumptuous and your DOF is delightfully delicate. Please pass my greetings along to Rosie, Pam and Andie, if you get a chance. :)
