This was something different for me -- a friend of Junko's is re-doing her website and asked if I would photograph her work and her at work (Junko is out of town). We had a fun afternoon and I loved all the colors and photo ops. Her work is beautiful, so it felt like a privilege to be able to see her studio space and photograph her as she moved about, as well as capture all the stacks of fabrics and other tools.
Inspired by Richard Sayer's b&w portrait of Mrs. S's hands at work.
Extras is a collage to try to convey her space: https://365project.org/taffy/the-also-ran-ph/2017-05-05
Thank you for your comments and favs that put one of my Rookery staircases at the top of TT. What an honor!!
Great use of crop and dof to draw the eye right to the sewer's hands and machine. Love the alliteration. Alternative for the last word could be 'seam'.
