No need to comment - for documentary purposes only. But, what an event. With all the hype going in, I would never have thought it could ever be better than expected. Glad to have listened to the soundtrack in advance and read the synopsis as it made it easier to follow. An incredible treat to have seen this performed.
@redy4et It helped to go on YouTube and stream the songs with the lyrics printed next to them. And then I also found the Wikipedia synopsis to be just the right level of detail. We were able to buy tickets when they released the next set of performances but otherwise, the cost is absurd here too. And we had to buy them almost 9 months in advance.
Heard the name but don't know anything about the show. Prices are insane here in London too. Last time the three of us went to a show it cost us more than £200 and the seats weren't that good! Interesting to know you enjoyed the show. Set looks great.
My niece had wanted to get us tickets to this before it hit it big, but the timing didn't work. I'll just have to read about it. I'm sort of curious being that the Hamilton name is in my family line. Nice diptych!
@salza In the US, it's one of the hottest shows, so far only in New York until it's run began in Chicago last year. It looks like it will be a long-term resident show here and I hope to see it again. I love musicals, and this was one of the most interesting, creative, exciting ones I've ever seen. And I'm not fond of rap, so thought between that and all the hype, I'd walk out thinking it was a letdown. NEVER thought I'd be even more impressed. Worth looking at it on YouTube to see some of the scenes performed, and also to read the synopsis on Wikipedia to know the story. It won more awards in history last year at the US Tony Awards (for Broadway theater).
It definitely is the show to see. It's coming to Dallas next year, we hope to make it to the theater then. Wonderful descriptive photos, I know it was mesmerizing!
