Feeling sort of uninspired upon return from Florida and all the new photo ops there, I stopped at a favorite parking garage (only on 365 would that phrase make sense and seem reasonable!) to photograph the "L" (Elevated - like a subway but above ground in spots). From Florida and the ocean and waterways to a parking garage...different ways to define 'fun' I guess.
Thank you for putting the happy pelican at the top of TT -- it was a thrill to see him there today!
Love this Taffy! Great memories of my visit to a parking garage for photos of the L! These trains make such fabulous subjects for photos and this looks especially great in b&w. Fav!
Wonderful. Buy some flowers - maybe a Christmas arrangement. It will cheer you and provide inspiration. You don't do a lot of flowers might be fun to see what you could imagine.
it seems i've never made it quite to chicago this year. must rectify that in the spring as i should like to visit the japanese gardens. i've taken the L quite a few times and i like it. the next time though i will be photographing it. i like the sense of movement of the train and the treatment in black and white really brought the details to the fore. aces, miss taffy!
Love the clarity of this shot and I agree - only on 365! I read your statement and thought nothing of it until you mentioned that some might not understand ...but we do, we really do!
Had to laugh at the "only on 365" comment! My photo friends from the club have no idea of my little pink muse with the tube around her tummy but we had two over for brunch the other day and she saw Piggy. After explaining what I'm doing with this little bath tub toy I could see the amusement but questions about my sanity in her face! But with all the penguins, purple cows, lego and little people, and other assortment of toys folks like to photograph here, I wasn't too worried. It's a 365 thing! Good shot!
@jgpittenger Thanks! But not an HDR (moving too quickly to get three shots to bracket). Instead, I used silver efex and LR to get this effect -- the details sliders in LR and just fiddling in Silver Efex.
@taffy -- dont' forget, you can HDR a single image now. I had a session with an HDR expert here and we were trying that out with an old image of mine that he thought needed enlivening.
