It's been busy getting ready to move up to the island for the summer but the day finally arrived and we are now here. Document shot only...top photo -- from the plane viewing the dense forest, and below, Fresh Air flight over in front of the airport. Rather different from Chicago's airports!
It must feel so strange at first to be away from the hustle and bustle, but I imagine it doesn't take you too long to get settled in to a quieter routine!
@vera365 The propellers are straight, but the motion, captured this time with an iPhone, I think is what makes it have the appearance of bending. Another image I took looked like the propeller is disconnected from the cone that it is actually attached to.
@lesip LOL! Yep...I’d just dropped off a SUV full load at the boat dock! It’s always a complicated time to get our stuff up for the summer, involving the car, a ferry, and the plane.
I love your urban shots because you do them so well but I always loo forward to your time on Beaver Island. Feel like I know both places from the comfort of my recliner.
Such contrasting homes you have - both with so many benefits. Hard to believe that this is an airport! I wish you a very happy and wonderful Summer on Beaver Island.
OK, I am going to try and use you as my muse for the summer...and document what is going on in the city whilst you are gone (aka Summer in the City), but don't hold your breath....lol!
@ukandie1 I love that idea! I haven't had time to get the camera out except for one sunset that I still need to post. Spent yesterday unpacking and today working in garden (my least favorite thing). But it's sunny and not horribly buggy so nice to be here after all! It will be fun to compare day to day!
@ukandie1 So, think "Chicago Metro Area" rather than Chicago and you're safe with the ones beyond the actual border. Think of it as 'island' and 'lake' but both counting!
