Practicing using the micro setting with the new Point & Shoot (Olympus Tough-6). I was satisfied with the color and detail in this one. The camera will take getting used to but seems to have a range of useful auto-settings. Just noticed the date setting is totally off.
Gorgeous colours in this dahlia, great closeup. I have an Olympus TG-4, and only ever use auto settings. They're great little p&s cameras and are really as tough as claimed. I'm pretty sure Jane @jgpittenger takes underwater shots with hers.
Beautiful closeup - lovely detail! Have you got the p&s for a specific reason/trip? I will be interested in how you get on with it. I am definitely looking for lightweight! Loving my iPhone XR but I think I need something a bit better! Lol!
@pamknowler I'd put this on par with the Lumix for quality but it's pocket size and waterproof. And it has the 'scenes' you can use for auto-pilot shots. BUT, that said, I delete 80 - 90% of the shots taken so far as quality is not wonderful compared to the DSLR. It will serve my purpose for underwater photography and it's maybe a step up from the phone cameras. I suspect there does not exist a small point and shoot that would satisfy either of us!
@taffy what are you doing under water? Are you diving? Have I missed something? I think you are right about finding that perfect camera just for us but lightweight! I suppose the answer is to have the lightweight one for walk around and keep the big cameras for more creative photography or wildlife.
@pamknowler Hoping that in the sailing trip through the Channel Islands National Park, I'll get to do some snorkeling and thus, want an underwater camera for it. No diving this time -- not sure I'll dive anymore as I don't see any opportunities in my future bucket list!
