I took this during Friday afternoon rush hour in the brief moments when two trains had come and gone, picking up departing and dropping off arriving passengers who quickly left the platform. Within a few minutes, it was fairly crowded again (and felt less creepily isolated).
Thanks for all the lovely comments and favs for my Cathedral Light scene! Nice to see it on PP!
I think of you when I am at work. In my new office on the third floor I get to hear the crane above moving back and forth on the tracks and it reminds me of your train and subway shots. But I don't get to take any wonderful pictures.
Cool shot. There is something both wonderful and eerie about empty stations, isn't there? I don't like to be in the crowds but at the same time, I don't like feeling isolated and alone. Fussy, aren't I? Like Baby Bear in Goldilocks....... need it to be "just right" like the porridge!
SPECTACULAR !!! I LOVE it -- one of the best photos ever!
This is the counterpoint to mine taken in Munich -- b&w/color, train track/station, late night/early morning -- but both an individual male looking at a phone. http://365project.org/jyokota/365/2017-12-16
Fantastic, whilst the new stations lack character they do set a backdrop for great symmetry...love having the person in the center of the shot, it gives it an anchor.
