This bird was in the middle of the street (changed background in Textures as it was just the dirt road), and wouldn't move. I stopped the car next to her, tooted the horn, shouted, etc, but she wouldn't budge. Then a bunch of little ones came out of the bush, crossed the road, and off she went. Not sure what she is -- can anyone identify? Maybe a ring-necked pheasant?
Maybe a juvenile ring-necked pheasant? The tail feathers aren't quite long enough, but I'm no expert that's for sure. Lovely image, I like your use of Textures here!
Not familiar enough with these kinds of birds to say what it is, but I'm pretty sure it's not a ring necked pheasant- from what I remember about them the ring is very obvious. At any rate- you've really done the bird justice with this edit. Nicely done!
Does look like a hen pheasant. So funny that she wouldn't move and get out of the way! Over here, you see them a lot as roadkill where they didn't move out of the way either! Nice processing, you made her look really classy.
Love your processing here! Protecting her young I expect. Our pheasants stand in the road and seem oblivious to any danger from cars! Lots of road kill!
