On my way back from photographing the fountain (in my main album: http://365project.org/taffy/365/2013-04-11), I ran into Anne who was walking Fritz and took some portraits of him. I loved this look of toleration.
His predecessor, Tater, was a friend of our Bernese Mountain Dog, Nutmeg. Nutmeg is one of the few remaining dogs in the neighborhood of that generation of dogs who played in the park together over the past 11 years. It's poignant for me to see members of the new cohort of young dogs, knowing how lucky we are to still have Nutmeg but knowing how rare it is for a Bernie to celebrate a 13th birthday. Hers is in a few weeks.
@pflaume@anwan@mrsvanpatten@jaynspain@kwind@jankoos@kimshots Thanks all for commenting on his expression. I took four shots and his owner, Anne, and I both immediately thought this one captured who he is. Annette, we've had several people tell us that if they come back in a new life, they want to come back as one of our dogs!
