Unlike Fritz (yesterday's extra's album portrait), these are the two 'old girls' of the neighborhood dogs who often meet in the park across from our house. Bella and Nutmeg are 14 and almost-13, no longer running around and playing, but still happy to be out and about. Though Nutmeg needs the harness and sling for us to help her up and to handle stairs (takes two people for that), she can walk by herself as long as we can grab her sling if she starts to wobble so she doesn't fall over. It's amazing how the harness and sling essentially added almost a year to her life so far!
Nose to nose! Aw, bless their hearts. They may be the senior citizens of the canine kind, but they still have love in their hearts and are ready to give it. Great shot......
That's SUCH a sweet photo! You couldn't have made them pose if you had wanted to, yet they greeted nose-to-nose instinctively! Such an intimate gesture that conveys a lot . . . There's also something about the body language, especially in Bella, that conveys age as well.
Awwwww, so fuzzy and warm! Great that you were there at just the right time with the camera! I just wonder how the photo would look if you cropped it quite tightly to focus more on their nose to noses? Did you try that ?

Thank you for commenting! Jackie, I'm going to post the nose-to-nose one in my other album. It was an excellent idea to do it. I cropped it down and cloned out the guys jeans and shoes.
Junko -- Bella actually does seem much older, but she's mobile, where Nutmeg isn't. So it's a weird juxtaposition.
