My get pushed challenge this week was from Tracy S who asked me to create a portrait in high key, either color or black and white. I had that in mind as we waited for my stepson, daughter-in-law, and grandkids to arrive on the ferry. As the ferry pulled in, my daughter-in-law and granddaughter presented the perfect opportunity, standing with the sun just above then, looking down from the upper deck railing of the ferry. I had my long lens with me so captured them with slight more exposure than normal, then upped it a bit more in processing.
@tracys Here's my get-pushed response. I hope you like it -- it was fun thinking about who to have as my portrait subjects this week! I also did this in b&w which worked fairly well too, but ended up liking the color version with their dark hair, dark shirts, and the green line against the white background and overexposure of their faces. Interested to read what you think.
@maggiemae Yes -- we spend our summers here...down to our last week. I have tons of photos from this summer her, tagged beaver-island. I've been trying to share what the island is like as it is little known even in the midwestern U.S.! Here's a link: http://www.beaverisland.org/
What a fabulous portrait!!! Such a natural smiles and pose! Beautiful job . . . aren't get-pushed opportunities great for what we do that we might not have thought to do on our own?
