No need to comment. I wanted to have this image as a marker at the beginning of this summer's time on Beaver Island.
I used to sit on the swing in the morning with a cup of tea, after walking Nutmeg. She would lie in front of me, or sometimes she dug the sand out from right under the swing's base and lay there. When she died last summer, we buried her in her favorite spot. I look forward to the bugs departing and being able to sit out there again. Jim's put up two beautiful wind chimes that make a lovely sound.
Oh :( How hard it must be to return to the island without your beloved companion, and such sweet memories to remember her by. It´s a very lovely place for morning tea & I´m sure you´ll make new momories this summer.
These pets... they pull at our heartstrings. A lovely memory for a lovely place. My eldest child is heading up your way for the summer, too - Torch Lake. Such a beautiful part of the world.
Under different circumstances I would say that I can't imagine your sadness but right now I can. We have all our wonderful happy memories but there's still a dog spaced gap. Thinking of you.
@jocasta It's so hard, isn't it? I wouldn't trade my time with Nutmeg for anything, but the loss is all the harder when they are such wonderful parts of our lives. You have my sympathy and empathy.
@rosiekerr Thanks for visiting and commenting Rosie! We drove through Torch Lake today on our way back to Chicago for a few days, and I took a few photos, thinking of you -- if any come out (they were all from the moving car), I'll post and tag you!
@nanderson "Used to" in the sense that I'll still sit there, but it won't be quite the same. Thanks for visiting this and commenting -- I do appreciate it -- it's a great place to just sit and 'be.'
@taffy I am sure..I am so sorry....losing pets is devastating...I never get over them! .I bet Nutmeg visits you when you go there! :) It is a beautiful place just to be...I
