Kinosaki is one of Japan's onsen or hot springs villages, meaning it is a village of traditional baths and ryokan's (traditional lodging, with mats and sitting and sleeping on mats on the floor. A beautiful river lined with willow trees meanders through the village and our ryokan was on one of these. This was the bridge in front of ours.
Thank you all for continuing to view my photos from Japan. It's been such a wonderful experience (see @vankrey and @jyokota for some amazing shots -- Michael's long exposure night sky of Tokyo is particularly amazing!). I've had fun shooting with other photographers, especially Michael and Junko, and now really want a lensbaby after seeing what Michael can do with it here. I've borrowed it a few times and hope I can get something worth posting soon! We leave tomorrow -- so I'll start catching up by the weekend. I've been able to read comments on my phone, and know I've missed commenting on some great photos this past week.
@rachelwithey Just bought my lensbaby tonight!! Now to pack and head home. Thanks for the kind comment -- I would love to see what you would do with Japan's many treasures through your lensbaby!
Very nice capture through the ball. Just a constructive comment (how do I dare to do it to such a great photographer...) I would cut some of the space outside of the ball. I think it just serves as distraction, mostly the white area.
How did I miss this? Lovely capture through the glass ball - I must get mine out - you have inspired me! How exciting a lens baby! I have been looking myself but not sure how you use it. I will watch with interest your experience with your new toy! Let me know if it's worth buying! Oh dear it's that lens lust again! Lol!
