P3 here, reporting on an appalling turn of events. One of my new friends is Big Penguin (Big P for short), who came home with me from Santiago, Chile. We've had a blast for a while, but then tonight, I was showing him Chicago's skyline with the crystal ball (Taffy taking photos, of course). Taffy asked us to move a bit, and gave Big P some "help" (yeah, right), and DROPPED HIM ON HIS HEAD!!!!! His head and his beak came apart! You already know about her losing TWO Big Danbos. OMG -- am I next??? She talked about Big P going into rehab with something called Super Glue...doesn't sound good to me. You may have to view on black to see how Big P's head is just resting loosely as is his beak. EGAD!!
You're narrative made me laugh, but I guess Big P probably doesn't think it's funny, and P3 sounds traumatized. You have such a creative imagination. Very cool collage.
You have me laughing... but your sweet sidekicks are probably "not so much." Adorable collage. Also, I am voting for the bottom, in the middle, shot. Superglue rehab may work out wonderfully... fingers crossed!
Some delightful images here Taffy... but I'm so sorry about Big P - if it was me, my disappointment would be completely out of proportion to the event. I really hate it when any of the things I treasure get broken or damaged.
Oh and they make rubber toys. Maybe Taffy should think of a Rubber Ducky with a squeaky thing so if it drops it will bounce and will squeak so she can hear it.
I know I shouldn't be laughing but it can't be helped. 3P's telling of this tragic tale borders on hilarious. In all serious tho, my sincerest sympathies to Big P and his injury, as well as the demise of all the Big Danbos who have gone before him. Very cool images you've created with this duo.
poor big P. At least it was an accident. Mr. Pig lost his nose when I repeatedly dropped him head first into a big pot trying in vain to catch a good motion blur.
Such a funny story but oh so sad for Big P!! I hope the rehab works!! Love the shots - you are lucky to have such a wonderful view - just don't go too near the edge when Taffy is around!!
Oh no poor big P!! Hope he will recover fully! Take care of yourself P3 when Taffy is getting the camera out again, you never now what is going to happen!
P3 what a terribly scary thing to go through with your new friend Big P, this Super Glue rehab thing, is good, so don't be worried that Taffy has suggested it, years ago, Jack (of nursery rhyme fame) had to mend his head with vinegar and brown paper, times have moved on so much. I am sure taffy is feeling terrible, so give her a huge P3 hug.....it will make her feel better
@pixiemac Thank you Sarah. As a very small penguin living in a foreign country, I'm feeling a bit vulnerable at the moment. But it's good to know that Super Glue is a good thing and not something horrible. It does sound more useful than vinegar and sugar. I know Taffy feels bad, but gee whiz...she seems to be destroying or disappearing us one by one!!
Dear Lord this has been a wretched series of events to finally bring 2014 to a close (quickly please before anything more happens to Taffy and the little Taffyettes!) I can think of no one at present to whom I'd wish more, "A Happy New Year"!! You're in need of a clean page and a fresh start!!!
The photos with the crystal ball are very good. Will have to try some out with Melodi. Sorry you broke Big P and glad to hear that he is now properly glued together.
P3 here @summerfield and I'd just like to say, broken head, severed beak, and hilarious are not my idea of words that go together. You're like those folks who were 'rolling on the floor laughing' -- weirdos!
@summerfield Taffy here...I have just reprimanded P3 for the way he wrote to you...he says he's sorry and won't make comments like that on such a friendly site. He said he's trying to see the humor in the situation now.
OK, I just now saw this, and I do think it is hysterical!! Does that make me a weirdo, too?! Just one word of caution, though, if you keep abusing or losing your children, the rest of them will be taken away from you, and placed in foster homes!! ;-))
