This is one of the many photos I took this afternoon of this spider who had made a huge web spanning the wrought iron steps leading down from our back deck. It made it impossible to pass without destroying it, so instead of taking out the cardboard recycling, I left it on the deck and got my camera out instead.

Another one for b&w natural lighting. Jane -- this is the same kind of spider, I think, as in your shot. Their 'faces' look like they have the same expression. Weird to both be photographing spiders today.
Great macro! I've had one building a web every night under my back porch light. Once in a while he/she anchors it to the recycling can and I always feel so bad when I have to put something in there!
