Four Triads of Trees by taffy

Four Triads of Trees

From my walk with @ukandie1 Andie at the gardens, and working through more in the Textures Effects processing plug-in, and Nik Silver Efex.
Neat to see the different effects.

Now that's the kind of collage I would love to emulate. There's something different in each one.

A fantastic series.

Great collage, I knew when you said you were doing the three trees it was from this location. I was slightly to the left of you so I only got the two trees, and I did a very similar edit on it as the first one in your series.

Lovely to see all the different effects. Cool idea to create a collage
January 26th, 2016

Lovely image - fav

Loving that colour work… :-)
January 26th, 2016
Needs to be seen large to be appreciated. I enjoyed comparing your different processing of the same image, and order of them left to right works well
January 26th, 2016
Great processing
January 26th, 2016
This is lovely Taffy - and what a great way to present this simple but striking scene. Fav!
January 26th, 2016

Love it!
January 27th, 2016
@vignouse Thanks Richard -- means a lot given your discerning eye!
January 27th, 2016
Wonderful to see the different effects of processing. I really like the one on the left.
January 27th, 2016
@taffy The second is my favourite: for me it conveys a lot of the emotional impact of the scene without the distraction of colour which tempts us to regard the 'pretty' aspect and not the essential quality of the image.
January 27th, 2016
@vignouse Interesting...that, to me, is the 'truest' to the emotional feeling of being on site there. I liked the higher contrast because I thought it was more interesting (on the left hand out) and the two color ones were all about pulling something pretty from a very gray day. You picked up on that in some way by choosing #2.
January 27th, 2016
@taffy I should have said all that first time out but I was in the middle of commenting on 60 or so images, which takes time. I came back because I felt guilty that I hadn't done justice to a thoughtful arrangement. We need more critical analysis on 365... it benefits the observer just as much as the recipient.
January 27th, 2016
@vignouse I agree...but I think the sheer quantity (60 plus responses a night) makes it hard, combined with our culture of niceness on the site -- I'm always worried when I provide a critique that I'll either offend or discourage. You have such a supportive tone in your critique -- and it does seem that your friends/followers appreciate it (I know that I do).
January 27th, 2016
I like them all- it'd be hard to choose a favorite!
January 27th, 2016
I like them all as well!
January 27th, 2016
Cool collage and processing. Congratulations on making the Trending Page. Well deserved.
January 27th, 2016
What fun
January 27th, 2016
I am so fond of this type of processing shot. Curiously enough, they make me feel like a better photographer.
January 27th, 2016
Love it times 4
January 27th, 2016
Nicely done!
