Marshall Field's was the iconic department store in Chicago, taken over by Macy's several years ago. While I tend to avoid shopping there in my feeble protest to the takeover, the structure of the lobbies is quite striking. This was taking from the 9th floor as we left the flower show. Converted to b&w using Silver Efex, and edited in Lightroom.
Beautiful tribute to architecture which is often not as appreciated as it should be. This sorta reminds me of the City of Paris store that was in San Francisco (torn down in the 80's). B&W is the best way to illuminate this structure. Are there any stained glass windows there?
What a fabulous building! Love the B&W giving all that detail! I am sure we would not be allowed to take photos inside a shop like this over here. There are, always signs up I shopping centres saying no photos. Love this! Fav!
