We haven't seen the pale headed rosellas for a couple of months so we were very hsppy to see the pair of them at the seed tray for a few minutes. Just long enough for a few pics before the lorikeets chased them off.
@trudi Much bigger than a budgie Trudi. In fact it is a bit larger than a Rainbow Lorikeet. But they are very timid and are at the bottom of the pecking order when it comes to confrontations with other birds.
@lyndemc We are driving down to Sydney on Saturday to see the new grand daughter and I have a million things to do before we leave. Oh, thanks for having a look.
Thanks everyone. I had some previous shots of these if you are interested in viewing at: http://365project.org/terryliv/365/2014-01-24 http://365project.org/terryliv/365/2014-01-11 http://365project.org/terryliv/directors-cut/2014-02-20 @karlow75
The pale headeds occur in the north east of oz and are replaced by their cousins, the Eastern Rosella in the south east. The Eastern Rosella is a much more striking looking bird
Great find.
Whatever is set to keep you extra busy, I hope it's an enjoyable task/experience. No worries about comments and whatnot.
