The "Dig" Tree by terryliv

The "Dig" Tree

Probably the most famous tree in Australia and another item ticked off my bucket list.

My apologies to all the O/S 365ers who will find this totally meaningless but this particular Coolibah tree holds a special place in Australia's exploration history and the psyche of all us mature/overripe Australians. That's Cooper Creek behind the tree.

If you would like to read about it, go to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Burke_and_Wills_expedition

Thanks for including the story as I had never heard of it. So many people lost! It is so interesting, and it reminds me of these others too: http://anilbalan.com/2011/10/17/the-croatoan-mystery/ https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Donner_Party http://www.eyewitnesstohistory.com/scott.htm
