Walking on Lake Eyre by terryliv

Walking on Lake Eyre

I am walking on the surface of Lake Eyre and another bucket list item ticked off. Absolutely fantastic.

For the benefit of O/S 365ers, I have no spiritual powers that allow me to walk on water. For years on end, Lake Eyre is a dry salt lake and only fills after flooding rains over a thousand kilometres away in central Queensland. Our tour guide reckoned that only a very very small percentage of Oz people have walked on Lake Eyre.

It was where Donald Campbell set the land speed record in Bluebird back in 1984.

Awesome looks very dry. So i presume that was no water in Lake Eyre this year, compared to previous years.

An amazing lake :)

Hard to believe that there could ever be enough water there to make this area into a lake. Interesting information. You will have to put it on your list to see the lake with water in now. :)
