Pedirka Ruins by terryliv

Pedirka Ruins

Pedirka is another of the old Ghan railway stations. As well as the station itself, Pedirka also provided accommodation for the fettlers working on the track. Built in 1929, the facilities consisted of cement block cottages with a central kitchen and dining room and bedrooms at either end.

Nice contrasts. They are really austere buildings, I imagine the cement buildings would be a bit cooler in the heat of the day :)
