The Missus and I are spending a couple days in Tappahannock to see some of the sights around this quaint little town, including a visit to a National Wildlife Refuge tomorrow.
One of the things I also planned was another in the T.O. series, this time with me in the picture to give a better idea how big this tree really is. I set up my camera on its tripod, made sure the settings were dialed in, and asked my able assistant to press the shutter button when I got into position - which is why the title says 'Selfie(-esque)'.
For reference, I am that brown, red, and khaki thing to the left of the tree. I am 5'8" / 173cm tall.
In my last shot of the T.O. (about 2 1/2 weeks ago) I wondered if it would give up the leaves it still had or if it would cling to them until spring, as some oaks do. Well, question answered.
Such a terrific tree.
