Apart from kid #2 falling flat on his face, getting a bloody nose and spending time at doctor's offices (he is OK now), it was a pretty sunny and enjoyable day! :)
As always, I am happy to see people stop by, comment and/or critique. Thank you!
Wow that sun's amazing! How did you do that? You've remin me of my son running along with his hands in his pockets (despite us telling him not to!) and ending up with a bloody nose - and a chicken wire shaped scab! Part of being a boy...
Steve, I did try the non-silhouette version (although without HDR), where you can see more details on the fields, but what finally attracted me to the scene was the stark contrast between the dark parts and the light road, so I wanted to stress it more. (So, I am with Ute and Clare on that!) This version is actually an in-camera "high contrast black and white" setting.
Judith - that's probably the secret to the blasting sun! :) And .... you are right on point. Falling on your face happens EXACTLY when a 2.5 year old discovers that when he is walking with his hands in the pockets, he looks way cooler than when he is walking normally. And oh how many times I asked him to take his hands out of the pockets. It's like having a mini teenager!

Barbara, thanks - the little one is better, still cranky and bruised, but better.
Rob, the EXIF data (among the links on the right) says it was f25 - just turned it up as much as it went as it was super-bright :) In my case, taking a picture is usually a trial and error affair :)
