The hunt passed by in a blur... by vignouse

The hunt passed by in a blur...

The local hunt were in full cry this afternoon in pursuit of a stag; at the time I saw them, the hounds were circling having lost the scent - a state of affairs I was quite happy with!

This is an attempt (failed I think) to create an image in a style which certain 365ers have made their own... it's harder than it looks to get right.
Nice like this but I'm sure the coloured version would be super too!

@maggiemae Thanks Maggiemae - I did try for sometime in colour, but I couldn't get happy with it, whereas this one I quite liked.

Fabulous, Richard -- what a great use of blur to keep our eye on the subject and convey the feeling of speed.

Excellent shot - on the day that the hunting ban came into force in the UK my lovely wife was driving to work and managed to use her Vauxhall cavalier to completely and utterly obliterate a fox from the face of the planet. No hunting on horse back but we can still use our cars!

Ah, but well done!

I really like how the blur conveys a sense of motion and movement, plus the b&w gives one a sense of time gone by. A very nice result.

Great use of blur. Hunting is one of those subjects on which I have mixed feelings - but I'm pleased the dogs lost the scent!

I think you did a fine job. It looks like a photograph from the very early days of photography.

Lovely vintage feel and so well suited to the subject Richard.

Wonderfully light and active. I'm glad, too, the hounds were confused. Strangely enough my husband came back from his bike ride this evening with a pheasant. He had spooked it up and it flew into the power line. He was happy as he likes wild game, but he'll have to do the cooking.

I used to follow the hunt at home when I was little - until I realised what they we're hunting. They took a deer from the demense where the big house from mum's birthday was, and freed it to hunt.

I like this!! It's blurry but still you know exactly what it is!! Very nice action. I'm glad they lost the scent, I hate to know they chased the poor Fox to death!! Great photo and processing though!! FAV!

Nice vintage feel and capture of motion!

Very Reto, resembling some old postcards I saw at the Vintage Fayre last w/e. Effective treatment well executed!

It's really hard to get the blur just right....and, have it become a style.....I do admire the ones here who have mastered it! This is a wonderful action shot!
