Remains of a life - the farm buildings.

For those of you who have been following this sad little story over the last two days, here's a picture of the former cow byre which is in the left-hand building in yesterday's picture. (In fact, a country lane runs between the two buildings but that is not clear from yesterday's post.) Some of you have expressed surprise that the interior of these buildings was in such relatively good condition, given the state of the exterior. In fact, as you can see here, it is only that one room where the internal structure is more or less intact. Here one of the main oak supporting beams of around 18 inches square has completely rotted through and snapped and the other one will suffer the same fate ere long. Then, as some of you have remarked, the building will slowly return to nature.
So sad!

I hope you are being careful when you go here. Could be easy to get hurt in such decay. Your photos are chilling.

I can't help but look, and look some more. For what, I don't know. The details are fascinating tho. I get caught up looking an urban decay images on line sometimes. You're presenting some amazing rural decay photos that are intriguing as well. I like the dark tones in this image.
