This is a bird house built specifically for bluebirds. We have many of these in our area. But this is not a bluebird; it is a swallow. An interloper who has decided to claim the house for this season:) The male has blue or bluish green feathers.

If you hang two bluebird boxes next to one another bluebirds won't nest in both boxes but they might nest in one! Swallows will not nest side by side either so you might get your bluebirds.
Also, if you drill a small hole in the top and put screening over ... the swallows don't like that... but bluebirds like the "dripping shower" !
Maybe these tips will help.
