Just such a Great Lake, it’s so big and so long. I will never forget the first time we drove by it, for miles and miles, cherry trees on the banks laying over with cherries!
@365karly1 WOW...that IS big! I was curious about Lake Tahoe in comparison. It said that Lake Tahoe is the largest alpine lake in North America but its dimensions were 22 miles in length and 12 miles in width. However, it is 122,160,280 acre feet and 1645 ft deep also making it the second deepest lake in the US. Maybe its size is decided by acre feet? Anyway...it is all interesting to learn. :)
@gardenfolk So .... you had me googling first thing this morning! Flathead wins by a nose - 126,000 sq. feet with Tahoe at 122,000 sq. ft. Thanks for the Geography lesson and even before my morning coffee:) You're right - it is all interesting to learn!
@ribbet9 @seattlite @gardenfolk @777margo @milaniet @suzanne234 @hermann @ellida @louannwarren @ludwigsdiana @365projectmaxine @mave @mittens @gaylewood Thought I would tell you - Flathead Lake is the largest fresh water lake west of the Mississippi - it is 30 miles long and 15 miles wide....and very beautiful!
(122,160,280?). It is 1645 ft DEEP! That is deep! :)
