I guess the straw creates a barrier against the floods

An old style of wall building. I wonder if this happens a lot so that they built their home high because they knew of the potential.

I took some photos the other day of debris laced fences too! It's fascinating to see. Cool captures. just a shame about the flooding that caused it.

We do get flooding, but it doesn't happen as often. After a bad storm we see grocery (plastic) bags in the trees. Water sometimes does lay the vegetation down on the shoreline.Tornadoes are the worst. I've never been in the path of one, but have come close several times. Wicked!
