Apologies for my lack of posting recently -- it's been a hectic few days over the last week as I got ready to drive down to California for Google I/O.
This is Mount Shasta, a dormant volcano in Northern California. It rises almost 10,000 feet and even in June is still covered in snow.
Taken from a viewpoint just off the I-5, I quite liked how the clouds formed to hide the end of the snowline, and make the mountain appear to be floating!
Forgive any colour balance/whitepoint/blackpoint issues, I'm using my laptop screen. (I wish I could use that excuse for composition and camera settings ;) )
My photos might be a bit sporadic for the next couple of weeks, but I'll be taking plenty, so normal service should resume a couple of weeks into July.
I'm a British software developer and photographer living in Vancouver, BC. I mainly photograph landscapes, cityscapes, night scenes, and water.
If you're interested in any...
Such a lovely crisp shot, it does indeed look like the mountain is floating. Don't worry about not posting every day, sometimes that's just too much pressure!
Have good time at Google I/O.
