I don't often take or post black and white photographs, but when I saw this light from the Burrard Bridge as the sun peeked through a thin gap in an otherwise overcast sky, I immediately knew it was made to be a black and white photograph.
I love the texture in the clouds here, and the rays of the sun coming across the photo. This was taken about half an hour before sunset, so the sun was low down and close to the horizon. The dark, moody sky was complemented by brightly lit buildings and trees. This light lasted for only a few minutes before the sun passed behind the clouds again, and it become just another overcast evening.

How on earth! Fantastic depth of field. I love the beams of light in the background and the crisp detail in the foreground. B&W was the perfect choice. Fav!
superb high contrast with great tones on the blue content. . I really admire the look of dark sky and water in B/W. Whatever edges/glow might have crept in you handled beautifully.
