I looked up standard in the dictionary, to find more than 20 definitions. I love heraldry (one of my goals is to save up enough to get my own official coat of arms) so I thought I'd go with the heraldic definition and make a standard just for 365 :)
(A standard is a long thin flag, with a rounded or split end, according to my book). Of course, I spent all my time tracing, drawing and colouring, so the photo itself is pretty lousy (as are my colouring in skills!) but at least I had a go!
@triciaanddazzle The pencil flagpole was my favourite part :) @danig It'll be a while, they don't come cheap! You have to talk to the College of Arms, then once they've confirmed you're a fit person to be granted arms (contribution to the community, qualifications, honours from the crown, etc...) they design them for you, based on your achievements, family, interests etc. There's info about the whole process here: http://www.college-of-arms.gov.uk/About/08.htm Fascinating stuff!
