After visiting friends near Bradford we moved on to York. We caught up with more friends and had a nice walk around their area, then went to our hotel in the city. We were within sight of the Minster, which looked very pretty by night :)
We headed to El Piano cafe for dinner (a very yummy platter of vegan food), then went on a ghost tour listening to stories of York's history. Other half insisted he try the beer at the most haunted pub in York (allegedly - we didn't see anything!) then we went cat spotting (there's a tradition of including cats on the older buildings for luck) before returning to the cafe for hot chocolate and cake - yum!
Great montage of shots... almost missed the Minster I was so distracted by the food! We love York and might go back at Easter, if so I'll look out for the cats! (PS My goodness you really did clock up some miles!)
@filsie65 There's a shop in the shambles that has a leaflet with many of the city centre cats marked on it. I can't remember what it was called, but it had a dispenser of the flyers on the outside of the window :)
Beautiful collage and lovely story, Alia. I have visited the UK several times and have been to many places but, although it was my wish, I have never managed to visit York, a city that has fascinated since I was very young because of the period in British history of the Wars of the Roses.
@sangwann The Wars of the Roses is definitely a fascinating part of British history. York is fascinating too - so much history, the beautiful Minster, the walls... Definitely visit if you get the chance!
