Even though I have two birds sharing the house with me, I struggle to get good 'flight' pics. Some days the camera just seems to do what I want - at other times it stops and thinks just at the wrong moment. No amount of fiddling with modes or flashes came up with anything focussed today, but there's something about this 'abstract' Magic pic that I somehow like...
This is a gorgeous shot, even if it isn't what you wanted. I suspect that you are too close to your birds to get a good flight pic. The trick is to focus on the bird and then keep the camera on them while they fly, clicking away as you go...I doubt that you can do this inside.
I like the effect too. It took me a moment to realise what it reminded me of and then I realised - it is like those 3D/moving picture cards that I had as a kid - the ones with a plastic layer with grooves in it, and you tilted the card back and forth and it appeared to move ...no idea what they were called, but anyway - this Magic shot reminds me of that
Very cool action shot, Alia! I too have trouble getting motion shots. Mine does the same thing. It's hit and miss. Usually if you have it set for auto and the flash it should do stop motion. But nevertheless, this is a wicked cool pic. Good job! :)
