Had to grab a quick shot of the girls this morning as I knew I wouldn't be home until after they'd gone to bed tonight. As people often ask about where they live, here's a pic of their palatial mansions. Phoenix's sleepy hut is hiding behind her big fuzzy straw toy :)
That was my first thought too! Surprised they aren't together. Would they fight over their beds if they shared the same house? These sure are palatial mansions xx
@ozziehoffy@nicolecampbell@humphreyhippo@psychographer We got them a couple of years apart. We're not sure of Phoenix's background - we think she might have been an aviary bird. While the two girls will now happily share a plate of snacks or a perch, it wasn't always so - when we first got Phoenix they wouldn't be in the same half of the room as each other. I've heard of newly-introduced birds attacking each other to the point of lost toes or broken wings, so we got them their own houses to be safe. They've always stayed that way. @pyrrhula@http365proj@lbmcshutter Most parrots are social, but like humans, they choose who they hang out with. They do occasionally visit each other's houses in the day time though - usually when they spot that the other has left some yummy snacks lying around uneaten... @olivetreeann Spelling was fine - I'm sure that's what they think :)
Are n`t they not group/socially birds ?
