It was a nice autumn morning in the city centre when I headed in for a meeting. Also managed to fit in a visit to the State Library's interesting new design exhibition (well worth a visit), a trip around the shot tower museum, some clothes shopping and pub trivia (we did ok but not brilliantly).
Finally a random note for anyone not in the UK: Today is the start of the process of re-interring Richard III. You can follow the historic proceedings using #richardreburied on Twitter, Facebook or virtually anywhere else!
Thanks for bringing up the subject of KRIII. I have had a photo taken of me next to the Effigy of Richard III at Madame Tussaud in London, He is the person in all of English history that interests me most. I will try to remember March 26th. Great capture of the sunshine through the tree.
Lovely shot! This is a bit of news to me- I had no idea he'd been uniterred. You learn so many things on 365 and sometimes they are not even about photography!
@olivetreeann For almost five centuries noone knew where Richard III was buried. Rumour had it that his bones had been thrown in the river. In 2012 the Richard III society had done a lot of research, raised funds and persuaded Leicester University to conduct an archaeological dig, where they unearthed a hastily-buried skeleton that, after a lot of testing, has been proven to be the remains of Richard III. They are finally giving him a decent burial this week. More info and pics here: http://www.latimes.com/world/europe/la-fg-remains-richard-iii-20150322-story.html
@alia_801 Thank you Alia! That was really interesting. I did not know any of that and what little I do know (emphasis on LITTLE) probably comes via Shakespeare's tragedy.
