I’m having a bit of a theatrical week - Halftix had The Bodyguard musical on special, so here we are! The Regent is one of the most spectacular theatre buildings in town too.
@jld29@nicolecampbell I would rate it as distinctly average. The energy level in the finale was great - sadly the rest of the show didn't come close. There were a lot of songs that didn't seem to have much reason to be there (other than so the main actors could sing them), and most of the depth of the plot was skipped over.
I'm always surprised by the story lines they decide to make into musicals. Reading your review makes me think it worked in the movies but not on stage. Cool theater though!
