The Rest of the Story

Yesterday I posted a mother-daughter portrait that I cropped to remove distractions. Here was the main distraction. While I was taking the picture, I didn't realize that this dear kindergartner was in the middle of a crisis. Look at him wringing his hands, his little chin trembling. He was barely keeping it together. Immediately after, the other teacher on duty and I spotted his anxiety and comforted him. The problem was that he was supposed to go to a different pick up point that afternoon and instead he had walked to his regular assignment. Once he arrived, he realized he was not where he should be. We were quickly able to deal with his mix up, and his Mom was there to dry his tears. Life can be harsh when you are 5 years old
Very moving picture. I'm glad his anxiety was easily resolved.

Oh that breaks my heart!! My little one just went to preschool for the first time last week, so it hurts just a little more than usual! Love the selective coloring on this one!

I can feel the stress! Glad to hear all's well that ends well with him. And of course it's great when Mom comes to the rescue!
