I set out to run an urgent errand this morning. On the return, there was no traffic and I was passing a place where you get excellent spices and pickles.
So, I took a little detour. As I entered, at one point I saw the compound wall a little low, and this washerman beating away with a cloth in hand.... i saw a complete bicep-tricep workout .... no need to gym, his head covered to protect against the soapy lather and sun. The clothes billowing in the breeze....
A reminder to tell us we are in the heart of the city ... in the background are split air conditioners.
I then, went to my pickles happily, lime, sweet n sour mango, spicy mango and a sweet mango shredded pickle, all jumped out at me.... now sitting in little glass jars.... a mouthwatering and sinful sight.....

@amyspada. Now i notice and see things, over compound walls too.... that too in the rush of the day! Lol! And your pictures are an inspiration.... love the simplicity....
@cjainmd Chandru, now Dhobi Talao, I don't think is there, this too is a rare sight. The washermen are now at one spot , i think over a 100, at Mahalakshmi , and they too have washing machines. :) Maybe , if life n time permits. Thank you.
