At work we held a small party as it's European Neighbours' Day today! Bet you didn't know that..!!!
Nope - Neither did I until we received a bundle of stuff from the EU asking us to promote the day - getting neighbours out and about, introduce themselves to each other in the hope we all become better citizans blah blah blah (Oh yeah, I believe in the day...lol)!!
So, out came the flags, invites were sent (although only a few bothered turning up) and a selection of European dishes ordered... pizza representing Italy, cakes representing France and curry representing the UK (Well... I suppose it's our most popular dish nowadays?!?!?!) and we did as our EU masters ordered... :-)
I didn't organise the day/merely took some photos! Oh, the lady is called Cybil, in her mid 80s and always up for a party...
Cybil looks like she'd be a lot of fun to hang out with! Great idea for a party, and very neighborly (neighbourly?) of you Brits! Funny you should mention the popularity of the curry...I was reading a cookbook I picked up (for free) at a yard sale the other day, and in the section of English dishes, there was the curry recipe. Looks like something even I could prepare...and it sounds delicious every time you mention it!
